deepspaceworks is now permanently closed as of 30th March 2024.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved over the last two decades.
This website remains simply as an archive of some of the things we got up to.
Updates and an Invitation

Updates and an Invitation

Well, here we are, half way through what would have been our summer half term week, usually looking forward to how we might creatively spend some of our summer days. Perhaps to include a workshop or two or a day long life drawing session with us. However we are still quite uncertain as to how our summer and indeed the next few months might be shaped following the extraordinary situation that has stopped us all in our tracks.

In spite of some reports that galleries and theatres and such can open again from 15th June, it will be difficult to do so for many, us included. The Gov. guidelines for reopening arts organisations currently site the 10th August as a possible opening date. As you know it is not just a question of opening doors but also of finding and implementing the additional resources needed to do so safely.

Rest assured we at deepspaceworks are deeply committed to re-opening just as soon as possible, when we are completely clear about the very best advice and courses of action to take so as to ensure that everyone who enters is kept safe. In the meantime we will be brainstorming, plotting and hatching new ways to stay afloat and move forward.

So sadly once again this is to announce that deepspaceworks must further delay reopening it’s doors to any form of class or workshop for the time being.

As for our regular and individual events, although an unlikely idea at the moment, we really do look forward to getting them back onto the calendar in some way at a reinvented deepspaceworks.

Meanwhile…

From Monday 1st June we will be launching regular posts from the deepspaceworks website featuring artworks and creative projects made during lockdown.
So we are inviting you, our class members and studio members, past and present, and all of our followers to send us pictures and/or texts depicting your recent creative activities for us to publish. We’d love to see what you have been doing at home with your art materials, any crafting, sewing projects or creativity in the garden or kitchen, some musings perhaps or your reflective poems.

Please email jpegs and docs to Su at [email-removed] and include any accompanying words, whether it’s a title, an explanation or some additional thoughts – or not, as the case may be.
Looking forward to being bombarded and seeing what you’ve been up to!

If you haven’t been able to draw or paint as yet perhaps our on going ‘let’s keep in touch’, on-line gallery will inspire you to.

To receive the gallery posts you just need to subscribe or remain subscribed, if you already are.

Thank you and see you anon!
