Love for curating combined with interest in self portraiture are realised in works that draw on the performance of experience; perform the experience of drawing; experience the performance of drawing. Current work also includes ‘Field Press Series’ – an attempt to archive the material elements in life that tame the free spirit.

Indy Cantillon
Indy Cantillon
“I have a compulsion to paint and draw; scraps of paper, canvas, skin – much of it gets discarded, but sometimes I keep pieces and work them to some kind of conclusion. The process of creation is more important to me than the finished work.”
Jade Gabb

People in the Rain
Pippa Mills
“I am inspired by memories of places visited, buildings, structures – inside and out and the people that move among them. Surface, texture and the feel of the paint are very important to me. I often paint over old paintings allowing the colour and tone of previous layers to guide me.”
Fumio Obata

Karen Roberts
Karen Roberts
“Following 19 months working as a TV journalist in Beijing, I returned to Cheltenham with a need to express -on canvas- my China experience. The political, cultural and environmental challenges of daily life there form the essence of a series of contemporary landscape oil paintings: ‘Smog – with Chinese Characteristics’.”

Sally Allen - A Sunny Day
Sally Allen
“Drawing, printmaking and artists books are my main loves, although I can be found painting, whittling, beading, crafting dream-catchers and moccasins too. Deep ecology, energy and the beautiful, natural world we are a part of are strong undercurrents in all I do, especially my art.”
Clair Hedges
Max
Max
“I get accused of being obsessed with vultures. This is not the whole truth. I am also obsessed with owls.”
Caroline Payne
Caroline Payne
“I am primarily a painter working in Oils. Drawing is also an important part of my practice, as well as exploring different ways to make work using printmaking and mixed media.”
Wasteland vii
Penny Payne
“For some time I have been looking for an alternative way of painting with a radical move from what attracts me most. This body of work is made with the removal of colour and direct observation. These are invented landscapes. Designed space. A visible definition of a place with no humanising qualities.”

Former members:

Dawn Baker
Helen Bridgeman
Helen Bridgeman
“I love to play with colour & materials, letting things happen in a random way with abstract results. Using oils, acrylics, plaster, glue gun, wire & beads I produce interior design canvases for businesses and people’s homes and am stimulated by the challenge of incorporating suitable images, techniques and colour schemes in keeping with the interior of a room.”
P Cassidy-Flint
P Cassidy-Flint
Sympathetic to the vulnerability of all living things, I use various mediums from paint to drawing materials to distill the essence of the subject through colour and texture.
Klee
Felix Wilkinson
Felix Wilkinson
“Influenced by contemporary urban life, I find inspiration in the confusion & fleetingness of busy crowded streets, the overlooked and unloved spaces at the edge of town & city that often hold an eerie feeling of insecurity and, yet, an odd sense of freedom.”
